No problem, Mike, I just hope I can be helpful. I would recommend rockbox documentation and support forums for actual answers. You're intuition about the size of folders seems right to me and I would certainly try to break down your folder structure further...or even begin troubleshooting this issue by only loading a few songs rather than the full 7000. For questions about buttons and playlists I am going to direct you to rockbox documentation. As I remember they keep it very up to date. Good luck!

I used rockbox to transfer the music... Or that's what I'm assuming I did.
I just double clicked on the drive in My Computer, created a folder titled "MP3s" and then copy and pasted about 7,000 (Seven Thousand) .MP3s into the folder...

It lags when I try to play a song and I don't know how to get it to switch songs forward to the next... I assume you would just click the ">>|" button on the right side that you would typically use with the original iPod software, but nothing seems to happen for me.

Do I need to move the files into smaller folders?

Also do you understand how I would go about re-createing a playlist with all of my music files in that MP3s folder on it?

Thanks for your help. Sorry to ask about something no longer prevelant in your life.

Hi Mike, thanks for the comment and questions. I have not had the opportunity to work with rockbox for quite a while now. I was enjoying it very much until I got a new stereo in my car that it was not compatible with. My main question for you would be did you add the music via iTunes or via the rockbox file system. The iTunes databasing system is quirky so I would recommend not using it to organize your music if you are running into instabilities. Let me know how it goes and good luck!

I need some help with Rockbox running on my 5th Gen iPod. I can't seem to get it to switch songs... like play the next track by just clicking the button. It seems like there's a big lag, or it never actually goes... and I know it acknowledges I pushed the button because I hear the button beep sound.
Could you help me troubleshoot this issue?
